How to Grow Eyebrow Hair – Fast

You know the saying ‘the eyebrows frame the face’, and having nicely shaped, thick eyebrows can really enhance your appearance, but some of us naturally have thin brows, and sometimes they can become sparse for other reasons.

Reasons for thinning eyebrows

Being heavy handed with a pair of tweezers is one thing, but it may be that the reason for thinning eyebrows is a medical issue.

Eyebrows grow from hair follicles, just like the hair on our heads, so anything that affects follicle health can also reflect in our brow growth, such as skin conditions, including alopecia, psoriasis and eczema. Poor nutrition, too, can be a contributing factor. Vitamins A, D and E help towards having lush, healthy hair and any deficiency can lead to a slowing down of growth, or even brittleness leading to hair loss.

In women, thinning eyebrows can signify an underactive thyroid – strangely this doesn’t seem to affect men in the same way, and some medical treatments, such as chemotherapy are known to lead to hair loss. Pregnancy, too, can be a factor, due to the resulting hormonal imbalance greatly affecting follicle performance.

Fortunately, there are some simple home remedies that can encourage eyebrows to quickly grow back.

If you’re using a product that you haven’t tried before, please remember to do a patch test first to check for any reaction.

Castor Oil

Crammed full of proteins, antioxidants, and vitamins, castor oil has been used successfully for many years to encourage eyebrow growth. Massaged in to the roots, castor oil nourishes the hair follicles stimulating them to produce healthier hair, quickly. Every day, rub a drop into each brow, leave it on for about half an hour and wipe off with make up remover. You should begin to notice a difference within a few weeks.

Coconut Oil

Coconut oil contains many beneficial ingredients, and can be used as an effective moisturizer. Great for improving blood circulation, bringing nutrients to feed the hair follicles, and thus increasing hair growth. The lauric acid found in this oil acts as an antimicrobial agent, ensuring that the risk of any infection is eliminated. This can be massaged into the brow’s roots several times a week.

Olive Oil

Vitamins A and E are both found in olive oil. The former encourages the production of sebum – the skin’s natural oil, which helps with hair growth, while the latter nourishes the follicles. Together they’ll greatly improve the look of your eyebrows, and if rubbed in once a day, will produce rapid results.

Petroleum Jelly

Although this doesn’t contain any active ingredients itself, it does help to keep your eyebrows moisturized, which, in turn, leads to increased growth. Apply a little every night, wiping it off in the morning.

Onion Juice

Yes, really. Onions contain selenium, sulfur, minerals and vitamins B and C which, together, produce thick, dense hair growth. I recommend blending several pieces of onion, and then straining the pulp to collect the juice. Using a Q-Tip, apply it to your eyebrows several times a week. Leave it on for an hour, and then, using a cotton pad dipped lemon juice to remove the odor, wipe it off.

These simple home remedies can really help you grow eyebrow hair fast and achieve gorgeous thick brows that frame your face, all with very little effort.
